Celebrations · Family reunions
A hall the whole family fits in
A family reunion venue ten minutes from Steinbach and forty-five from Winnipeg, with room for 200. A weekday is $500 — seven in the morning to midnight, the whole building — and the 12 × 28 gazebo comes with it.
Two hundred people, one open room, a kitchen the family is actually allowed to cook in, and a parking lot that does not run out when three vehicles turn up from Alberta at once.
Tables, chairs, dishes and cutlery for the full room are already in the building, so what you are bringing is food, people and photographs. We do not set the room and we have no decorations to rent: you put the tables where you want them and hang what you like. There is no in-house caterer and no food and beverage minimum either, which means if three aunts want to run the kitchen, the kitchen is theirs. Most reunions here take a weekday in July or August — the cheapest day we have and the one most likely to still be free.

What decides a reunion here
Three things, and the first one saves $750
Take the weekday
$500 Monday to Thursday against $1,250 on a Saturday — the same room, the same seventeen hours. A reunion is built around people travelling and taking time off anyway, so it is one of the few events that can move off a Saturday. A Tuesday in July is nearly always open; a Saturday in July is the hardest date in our year to get.
The kitchen is the reunion
Two fridges, a stove, a microwave, a coffee maker and a commercial dishwasher that turns a rack around in two minutes, handed over to whoever is cooking. The dishwasher is the part that matters: 150 plates and cups on a domestic machine is a twelve-hour job and somebody's mother ends up doing it.
Seventeen hours, and somewhere shaded to sit
7 AM to midnight means the morning is for setting up and hanging the family photographs, supper is at five, and the people who want to go at eight can go at eight. Outside, the 12 × 28 gazebo is roofed and strung with bulbs, which is where the ones who want to talk rather than shout end up. $200 holds the building to 1 AM.
How many tables a hundred and twenty people actually need, and how to lay them out so nobody is carrying a plate across the dance floor, is worked out in the seating guide. Three honest limits before you plan around them: there is no accommodation on the property, there is nothing built here for children beyond a large floor and the space outside the doors, and nobody here decorates — for that, Let’s Celebrate Rentals hires out what we do not have.
What it costs
The rates, and what a reunion adds to them
Every rental is the whole building from 7 AM to midnight — there are no half-days and no hourly blocks. A weekday is $500, a Friday or Sunday $1,000 and a Saturday $1,250. Tables, chairs, dishes, cutlery, the kitchen, the gazebo and the parking are inside that number. Everything under it is optional.
Weekday, Monday to Thursday
The whole building, 7 AM to midnight, for five hundred dollars. Seminars, fowl suppers, showers, funeral lunches, reunions and AGMs all book this one.
$500
Friday or Sunday
The same hall and the same hours as a Saturday, two hundred and fifty dollars less. Sunday afternoons get the west light off the field.
$1,000
Saturday
7 AM to midnight on the busiest day of the week. Room for 200, with 180 sitting down comfortably for a plated supper.
$1,250
Projector, Screen & PA System
Ceiling projector, drop-down screen, a wireless handheld mic, and house sound over 3.5 mm or Bluetooth. The line every seminar, AGM and slideshow-at-a-memorial adds.
$125
Coffee & Tea Service
Urn coffee, tea, cream and sugar topped up from your first guest to your last, with a thermos left on each table. Around here the coffee runs out before the food does.
$2.75/ guest
After-Event Cleaning
Floors, kitchen, washrooms and bins the morning after. Without it the hall has to be left as you found it — which on a wedding night means somebody's uncle mopping at two in the morning.
$250
One rate buys the whole building from 7 AM to midnight. Anything below it is something you add on top. Every rate we charge is on the pricing page, and there is nothing else.
Added up
A hundred and twenty on a Tuesday in July
The whole building for seventeen hours, the old photographs up on the screen, and nobody in the family at the sink the next morning.
| Weekday hall rental, 7 AM to midnight | $500 |
|---|---|
| Coffee & tea, 120 × $2.75 | $330 |
| Projector, screen & PA for the family slideshow | $125 |
| After-event cleaning | $250 |
| Subtotal | $1,205 |
| GST 5% | $60.25 |
| Total | $1,265.25 |
That is about $11 a head for the venue, on 120 guests.
The room, the kitchen, the dishes, the gazebo and the parking are all inside the first line. Food is yours — there is nobody here to buy it from and no minimum to hit — and so is the decorating. The bare room with nothing added at all is $500 plus GST, $525.

Questions
Which day is cheapest, and which day is actually free?
A weekday is $500, a Friday or Sunday $1,000 and a Saturday $1,250. The summer Saturdays go to weddings twelve to eighteen months out; weekdays are usually available inside two months. A reunion is one of the few events that can take a Tuesday, which is why we push it.
Can the family do the cooking?
Yes, and most do. The kitchen is handed over — two fridges, a stove, a microwave, a coffee maker and a commercial dishwasher that runs a two-minute wash and rinse — and dishes and cutlery for the full room are included. The dishes are still somebody's job, but a rack every two minutes is a different afternoon from a domestic machine.
Do you set the room up, or decorate it?
No. We do not set rooms, we do not decorate and we have nothing to rent you. You get the building from 7 in the morning, the tables and chairs, the dishes and the kitchen, and you lay it out and hang the family photographs however you want. For linens, backdrops and centrepieces, Let's Celebrate Rentals is who we send people to.
Is there anything here for the children?
Nothing we have built — no playground and no games equipment. What there is: a large open floor once the tables are pushed to one side, the 12 × 28 gazebo with a roof on it, and space outside the doors away from the road. Families bring lawn games and they get used.
Can anyone stay overnight?
Not here. There is no accommodation on the property at all, and we would rather say so now than have you find out in June. Parking is free and a car can be left overnight at no charge. Steinbach is ten minutes away and Winnipeg forty-five.
How long do we get, and how late can it run?
7 AM to midnight, and that is the whole rental rather than a block inside somebody else's day. It is long enough to set up in the morning, eat at five and still have the grandparents home before dark. The late-night extension holds the building to 1 AM for $200.
We are only forty people. Is the room too big?
Possibly, and there is no way to divide it — it is one open rectangle built for two hundred. Forty works if you set one end and leave the rest of the floor alone. If what you want is a small room, this is not one.
Give us the dates you are weighing up.
Put the date and the headcount in and the quote builder does the arithmetic, adds the GST and emails you the result. Run it twice if you are deciding between a weekday and a Saturday.
