Fiftieths, anniversaries and graduation suppers
Fiftieth anniversaries, milestone birthdays and graduation suppers in a 200-guest hall ten minutes from Steinbach, Manitoba. A Friday or Sunday is $1,000 for the whole building, seven in the morning to midnight, with the 12 × 28 gazebo outside for a ceremony or a vow renewal.
The same room does a golden anniversary at two in the afternoon and a fiftieth birthday that runs to one in the morning. What changes is the day you book and how much you want to carry in.
Two hundred people in the room, 180 seated for a plated supper, tables and chairs and dishes already in the building, and a kitchen with no caterer guarding the door. We do not sell food or alcohol, so nothing is marked up and there is no minimum to hit, and we do not set the room or decorate it either — the hall is yours from 7 in the morning and you dress it the way you want it. The bar and the stage are $80 a day each, and the gazebo outside costs nothing at all.

The decisions
Which day, what happens outside, and who does the decorating
Sunday is the underrated day
$1,000 against $1,250, for the same hall and the same seventeen hours — and Sunday afternoons get the west light off the field. For an anniversary with older guests, an afternoon that ends at eight is the better party and the cheaper one. Saturday is worth its $250 when the point of the night is the dancing.
The gazebo takes the forecast out of it
12 × 28 feet, roofed, lattice sides, cedar deck, warm bulbs, and included with the hall rather than charged for. A vow renewal or an anniversary blessing can be held outside without the whole thing hanging on the sky at noon — at minimum everyone standing at the front stays dry. Supper carries on inside either way.
Nobody here dresses the room
We do not set rooms, we do not decorate and we have nothing to rent you. What you get is the building from 7 in the morning, the tables and chairs, the dishes and the kitchen — and a full day to put it together, which is more time than most people expect. The bar at $80 and the stage at $80 are ours; the linens and the flowers are not.
For the linens, the backdrop and the centrepieces, Let’s Celebrate Rentals hires out what we do not have. If there is a bar, the permit is yours rather than ours and it wants applying for the week you book the room — which permit, and the four-week deadline, is here. For speeches and photographs, the projector, screen and wireless mic are $125 together.
What it costs
The rates, and the lines around them
Hall rental first — $500 on a weekday, $1,000 Friday or Sunday, $1,250 Saturday, each of them the whole building from 7 AM to midnight — then whatever you want on top of it. That is the whole structure. There is no third layer and no service charge.
Friday or Sunday
The same hall and the same hours as a Saturday, two hundred and fifty dollars less. Sunday afternoons get the west light off the field.
$1,000
Saturday
7 AM to midnight on the busiest day of the week. Room for 200, with 180 sitting down comfortably for a plated supper.
$1,250
Bar
The rolling bar, wheeled out to wherever you want it and backed onto the kitchen pass-through so whoever is pouring is not cut off from the room. You bring the drinks and the permit.
$80/ day
Stage
A raised platform for the band, the DJ, the head table or the speeches — worth it the moment you have 180 people sitting down and somebody at the back who needs to see.
$80/ day
Projector, Screen & PA System
Ceiling projector, drop-down screen, a wireless handheld mic, and house sound over 3.5 mm or Bluetooth. The line every seminar, AGM and slideshow-at-a-memorial adds.
$125
Late-Night Extension to 1 AM
The rental runs to midnight; this holds the building to 1 AM. It costs nothing on the Saturday of a whole-weekend booking — that one is already included.
$200
After-Event Cleaning
Floors, kitchen, washrooms and bins the morning after. Without it the hall has to be left as you found it — which on a wedding night means somebody's uncle mopping at two in the morning.
$250
Coffee & Tea Service
Urn coffee, tea, cream and sugar topped up from your first guest to your last, with a thermos left on each table. Around here the coffee runs out before the food does.
$2.75/ guest
Late-Night Coffee & Squares
A fresh coffee run and a tray of squares put out around ten for the crowd who stay to the end. There is no point holding the building to 1 AM with an empty urn.
$4.50/ guest
One rate buys the whole building from 7 AM to midnight. Anything below it is something you add on top. Every rate we charge is on the pricing page, and there is nothing else.
Added up
A fiftieth anniversary for a hundred, on a Sunday
The bar out, a stage for the speeches, supper at five, and the coffee and squares out at ten for the people who are staying.
| Sunday hall rental, 7 AM to midnight | $1,000 |
|---|---|
| Bar | $80 |
| Stage | $80 |
| Projector, screen & PA for the speeches | $125 |
| Coffee & tea, 100 × $2.75 | $275 |
| Late-night coffee & squares, 100 × $4.50 | $450 |
| After-event cleaning | $250 |
| Subtotal | $2,260 |
| GST 5% | $113 |
| Total | $2,373 |
That is about $24 a head for the venue, on 100 guests.
Midnight is the standard finish, so there is no late-night line here; $200 buys the hour to 1 AM if the dancing wants it. Food, drink, cake, flowers, music and the decorating are yours to arrange and none of them are in this number. On a Saturday the same evening is $250 more before GST.

Questions
Which day should a fiftieth be on?
A Saturday is $1,250, a Friday or Sunday $1,000 and a weekday $500. For an anniversary where a good share of the guests are in their seventies and eighties, a Sunday that starts at two and finishes at eight is a better evening than a Saturday that starts at six and finishes at one — and it is $250 less.
Do you decorate the room, or rent decorations?
Neither. We do not set rooms, we do not decorate and we have no decor to rent. What you get is the building from 7 in the morning, the tables and chairs, the dishes and the kitchen, and the whole day to dress it however you want. For linens, backdrops, arches and centrepieces, Let's Celebrate Rentals is who we send people to. The two things we do own are the bar at $80 a day and the stage at $80.
Can we hold the ceremony or the vow renewal outside?
Yes, in the gazebo, and it costs nothing extra — it comes with the hall. It is 12 × 28 feet, roofed, lattice-sided, on a cedar deck and strung with warm bulbs, which means an outdoor blessing that does not get called off at noon because of the forecast. Supper carries on inside afterwards.
Can we get a June Saturday for a graduation supper?
Not usually inside a year — June Saturdays go to weddings twelve to eighteen months out. A weeknight at $500 or a Sunday at $1,000 is normally available inside two months, and most grad suppers end up on a weeknight anyway because that is when the family can come.
Can we have a bar?
The bar itself is $80 for the day — a rolling one that backs onto the kitchen pass-through so whoever is pouring can still see the room. What goes on it is yours, and so is the permit: we do not sell alcohol. You apply for your own Social Occasion Liquor Permit from the LGCA at mylgca.ca, at least four weeks ahead — a sale permit if guests pay for a drink, a no-sale permit if they do not. An individual is capped at two permits a year and the permit year runs 1 April to 31 March.
Can we run speeches and a slideshow?
The ceiling projector, the drop-down screen, a wireless handheld microphone and house sound over 3.5 mm or Bluetooth are $125 together. For a fiftieth with photographs it is the best $125 on the list. Add the stage at $80 and the people at the back can see who is talking.
Who cleans up at one in the morning?
Nobody, if you add After-Event Cleaning at $250 — floors, kitchen, washrooms and bins, done the morning after. Without it the hall is left as you found it, which is the line people underestimate when they are comparing two quotes.
Tell us the date and the number, and we will price it.
Two minutes of questions and an itemised quote with the GST already on it. Worth running twice — once for the Saturday, once for the Sunday.
