Suppliers we actually work with around Steinbach

5 min read · Published July 31, 2026

The short answer

For this venue specifically: Honeyblossom Weddings for florals, Anna's All Occasions for catering, and Let's Celebrate Rentals for decor and rentals. None of them is compulsory and there is no approved list here. But we do not decorate and we rent no decor, so a decorator is not an optional extra at this hall — it is whoever dresses the room, and that is a job somebody has to be given.

A sheer head-table backdrop with greenery and warm bulbs

Some venues have an approved list you must book from. We do not, and we would not — the kitchen is yours and so is the guest list. What follows is simply who has worked here before, because "they have been in the room" is worth real money in reduced back-and-forth.

It is a more useful list here than at most halls, because we do not set the room, do not decorate, and have no decor to rent. Everything you see in the photographs on this site beyond the tables, the chairs and the building was brought in by somebody the couple hired.

Florals — Honeyblossom Weddings

Nora Bergen's shop. The flowers in most of the wedding photographs on this site are hers, including the greenery running along the ceiling in several of them.

Worth knowing: she has worked against this room's vaulted ceiling and knows what a garland has to weigh to hang off it properly. That is not a conversation you want to be having for the first time at 8 AM on a Saturday.

Catering — Anna's All Occasions

Has cooked in this kitchen. Knows there are two fridges and one commercial dishwasher that cycles in two minutes, knows where the outlets are, and knows the shortest run from the kitchen doors to the back wall where the buffet goes.

If you are doing a part-catered, part-family supper — which is the most common arrangement here — a caterer who already knows the kitchen makes the split far easier to negotiate.

Decor and rentals — Let's Celebrate Rentals

We install nothing and we own no decor, so everything that makes the room look like your wedding instead of an empty hall has to come from somewhere. This is the somewhere we send people: linens, backdrops, arches, centrepieces and lighting, hired and delivered.

Hire the setting-up as well as the things, if it is offered. The gap between renting a hundred linens and getting a hundred linens onto tables by four o'clock is a Saturday morning and six people.

What you still need to find

We do not have preferred suppliers for these and will not pretend to:

  • A decorator, or six people and a written plan. Since we set nothing up, somebody has to put the linens on, hang whatever is being hung, and strip it all again before the keys go back. Name that person before the invitations go out.
  • Photography — book early; the good ones go before the venues do.
  • DJ or band — ask about our house sound first. Projector, screen, wireless mic and house PA is $125 and covers a playlist and speeches. A band needs more than that, and a stage, if you want one, is $80 a day.
  • Cake
  • Officiant
  • Hair and makeup — and ask whether they travel out of Winnipeg, because some will not.
  • Bar staff — worth budgeting for even when the permit lets a volunteer pour. The bar itself is ours at $80 a day; who stands behind it is yours. One sober professional is cheaper than the alternative.

The drape, the garland and the linens here were hired and hung by the couple's own suppliers. The tables, the chairs and the ceiling are the part we provide.

Briefing a supplier who has not been here

Most of the friction with a new supplier is spatial. Give them this, in writing, before they quote:

  • The room is one open rectangle with a vaulted ceiling. There are no pillars in the middle.
  • Capacity is 200 in the room, 180 seated for a plated supper.
  • The kitchen has two fridges, a commercial dishwasher on a two-minute cycle, a stove, a microwave and a coffee maker, and it is handed over.
  • Setup and takedown are the couple's, in full. The venue puts nothing out and takes nothing down.
  • Access is from 7 AM on the day booked — the whole day, not a block — and all of the day before as well if the Friday or the whole weekend is booked.
  • Out at midnight, or 1 AM with the extension.
  • Outside there is a roofed 12 × 28 gazebo for the ceremony, so an outdoor ceremony here does not need a marquee as its wet-weather plan.
  • Parking is on site, free, overnight included, and it is not tight, so a van can get close to the doors.
  • The address is 31085 Rd 32 East, near Steinbach. Tell them it is rural — delivery drivers who are expecting a city loading bay need warning.

That list answers about ninety per cent of what a supplier rings us to ask.

Working out what we cover and what you still need to hire? The quote builder lists everything we do, priced, in one pass — and it is a short list on purpose.

We take no commission from any supplier named here and none of them pays to be on this page. They are listed because they have worked in this building or because they are who we would ring ourselves.

Tell us the date. We will price it while you are still on the page.

Two minutes of questions, then an itemised quote with real numbers — not a form that lands in an inbox.
